General Motors' Creative Design organization is transforming the future of transportation and mobility solutions. We are seeking an Interior Design Manager for our Advanced Design studio in Pasadena, CA. In this role, you will be a leader in a dynamic team using advanced technologies to create next-generation designs that will deliver industry-leading vehicles. From concept to production, the design team infuses BOLD creativity with rigorous design builds and tests, always aiming for higher quality standards. As a Design Manager, you will oversee our programs, guiding the aesthetic direction by integrating customer-focused needs and brand differentiation into all design proposals. You will direct, administer, and coordinate the overall activities of a design studio. We seek candidates who are highly skilled technically and possess the ability to motivate positively across the studio. What Youll Do (Responsibilities): Lead a team of interior designers on multiple advanced programs Develop two- and three-dimensional representations of proposed design solutions Collaborate with groups such as Design, Engineering, Program Teams, Sculpting, and Fabrication to develop design proposals Enhance relationships with design studio leaders, sculpting, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to diplomatically eliminate roadblocks Handle design issues promptly and propose effective solutions Present new ideas and designs Direct studio activities in the absence of upper management Negotiate criteria with engineers effectively Understand program timelines and proactively complete tasks Guide program sculptors and engineers in creating full-size and scale models Integrate subsystems to complete full-size design proposals Train, develop, evaluate, and manage the performance of design employees #J-18808-Ljbffr General Motors
