Diesel Mechanic – Jordison Construction (Des Moines, IA)

$75,000 - $80,000 Annual | Full-Time | Family-Owned Business | Year-Round Work

For 50 years, Jordison Construction, Inc . has been central Iowa ‘s leader in complete professional concrete construction. We are a commercial concrete contractor that specializes in all concrete flat work including foundations, slab on grade, parking lots, tear outs, replacements, sidewalks, as well as maintenance on all our work. As part of our commitment to quality and safety, we maintain a robust fleet of construction equipment and we're looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

Position Details

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Pay: $75,000 - $80,000 (based on experience)
• Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• License: CDL preferred (we can help you obtain one)

What You’ll Work On

As our Diesel Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of company-owned equipment, including:

• Skid loaders, excavators, and pickup trucks
• Small engines and general equipment

Additional Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, suspension, drive-train, and electrical systems
• Perform welding, cutting torch work, and preventive maintenance
• Use computer diagnostics and inspect air brake systems
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure DOT compliance

Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years of mechanic experience
• Welding and torch experience required
• CDL preferred (not required)
• Must bring your own tools
• Clean driving record
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Willing to work occasional overtime/weekends
