Join our dynamic team as an Analyst II supporting critical policy initiatives and strategic planning efforts. The Office of Homeland Security Policy plays an important role in strengthening California’s homeland security enterprise through strategic policy development, stakeholder coordination, and data-driven decision making.
The incumbent serves as a key analyst within the unit, coordinating with the Homeland Security Advisory Committee (HSAC) and supporting the development and implementation of the State Homeland Security Strategy. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on California's security posture through policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. This position is located at our Mather Campus and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which may include up to one day of remote work per week. Additional in-office days may be required based on business needs.
The position is a 12-month limited term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. Homeland Security Special Requirements : This position requires access to National Security Information, and therefore, selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance. Upon hire, candidates will be required to apply for the clearance, and once granted, they must maintain it as a condition of employment. Eligibility for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sponsored SECRET security clearance is also mandatory, and candidates must be able to qualify for and maintain it.
