Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an Interim Clinical Nurse Educator / Geriatrics for a W2 Contract position based in South San Francisco, CA.

Schedule: Full time, 5 8's Days, 7am-3:30pm

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Compensation

This position offers a daily rate of $610 to $630 which equates to $3,050 to $3,150 per week (based on a 5-day workweek)

Per Diems: Lodging: $183 per day and Meals & Incidentals: $86 per day

Per diems are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $1,883 per week

Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate + Per Diems): Between $4,933 to $5,033 per week

Benefits: Paid sick leave, Paid holidays, Co-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, Cafeteria plan access and 401(k) retirement plan.

Position Summary

The Clinical Educator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating education and training programs to support the learning and competency development of clinical staff, with a focus on geriatric care. This role ensures that clinical care providers maintain current competencies and are aligned with best practices, regulatory standards, and organizational goals. The educator collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and leadership to support quality improvement initiatives and promote a culture of clinical excellence.

Essential Functions

Design, implement, and evaluate clinical education and competency development programs based on assessment of staff needs and performance outcomes.

Develop and oversee orientation, training, and cross-training programs to ensure clinical staff competency and compliance with regulatory standards.

Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for quality improvement and clinical innovation.

Respond promptly to changes in clinical guidelines by updating educational content and providing timely training to staff.

Ensure all educational programs are properly documented and compliant with applicable regulatory and licensing requirements.

Utilize adult learning principles and evidence-based practices to deliver effective and engaging training.

Serve as a subject matter expert and resource on current geriatric care practices and regulatory requirements.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, clinical best practices, and industry innovations.

Market and communicate educational programs to staff and stakeholders through appropriate channels.

Uphold compliance and ethical standards by maintaining confidentiality, protecting organizational assets, and adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in nursing education.

Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in inservice education within a relevant clinical area.

Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and clinical competency development.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Effective group facilitation and presentation skills.

Knowledge of the California Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, Title 22, and BRN regulations required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree preferred.

Certified in CPR instruction.

Experience with clinical education in geriatric settings.

Familiarity with instructional design software or learning management systems.

Demonstrated ability to lead training programs in complex healthcare environments.
