Job Description

**Job Summary:**

As a Material Handler at Walmart, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the flow of materials and products within the warehouse or distribution center. Your primary role involves receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping merchandise to support Walmart's operations. You will work as part of a team to ensure that inventory is handled safely, accurately, and efficiently, contributing to Walmart's commitment to delivering quality products to customers and stores.


**Key Responsibilities:**


1. **Receiving and Unloading:**

- Receive incoming shipments of merchandise, verifying quantities and inspecting for damages.

- Unload trucks using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.

- Record received goods in the inventory management system and distribute to appropriate storage locations.


2. **Inventory Management:**

- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and reconciliations.

- Organize and store merchandise in designated locations within the warehouse, following safety and space utilization guidelines.

- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to warehouse supervisors.


3. **Order Picking:**

- Use handheld devices or picking lists to locate and select merchandise from designated storage locations.

- Navigate through aisles and storage racks to retrieve items efficiently, ensuring accuracy and completeness of each order.

- Verify product details, quantities, and quality before packing to ensure customer satisfaction.


4. **Product Packaging:**

- Pack merchandise securely and appropriately for shipping, using packaging materials such as boxes, bubble wrap, and packing peanuts.

- Label packages with shipping information, barcodes, tracking numbers, and any other required documentation.

- Ensure that packages are sealed properly to prevent damage during transit.


5. **Shipping and Loading:**

- Prepare shipments for outgoing delivery to Walmart stores or customers, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.

- Load merchandise onto trucks or shipping containers using appropriate equipment and techniques.

- Coordinate with logistics personnel to schedule pickups and deliveries as needed.


6. **Safety and Compliance:**

- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse.

- Operate equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Follow company policies and procedures regarding workplace safety, security, and regulatory compliance.


**Qualifications:**


- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

**Physical Requirements:**
