Position: Oracle Database Administrator

Type: 3-Month Contract-to-Hire (CTH)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia – Hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote) – Must be within 50 miles

Mandatory Skills:

• Oracle Apps experience
• Automation using Ansible

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. This role involves the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of Oracle databases with a strong focus on automation and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and upgrade Oracle EBS instances on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure using tools like Ansible , Jenkins , etc.
• Optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability .
• Perform backup , recovery , and disaster recovery using RMAN and other tools.
• Troubleshoot database issues alongside application and infrastructure teams.

Performance Tuning & Optimization:

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks using AWR , ADDM , SQL Tuning Advisor
• Optimize SQL queries and indexing strategies
• Implement partitioning , compression , and performance enhancement techniques

Security & Compliance:

• Implement security policies, user controls, encryption
• Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments

High Availability & DR:

• Configure/manage Oracle RAC , Data Guard , GoldenGate
• Develop/test disaster recovery plans

Automation & Scripting:

• Create scripts using Shell , PL/SQL , or Python for automation and monitoring

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work with developers on schema and query optimization
• Maintain documentation of architecture, configs, SOPs

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, IT, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise settings
• Strong skills in SQL , PL/SQL , and performance tuning
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Hands-on with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Oracle certifications (OCP, OCM) are a plus

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Ansible or Terraform for automation
• Exposure to NoSQL or other RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Familiarity with Python is a plus
