Job Description

Dexis is a dynamic professional services firm dedicated to partnering with government and community leaders both in the U.S. and internationally to achieve critical social outcomes in a rapidly changing world.

At Dexis, you will experience a corporate culture of inclusiveness, respect, fairness, and trust. You will be given the means and mentorship needed to succeed, and your creativity will be rewarded.

About the Position

Dexis seeks Research Analysts to support an anticipated project with the Department of Labor in the Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking (OCFT) to support communication, research and data analysis. The Department of Labor (DOL)/ILAB reports on child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking in accordance with Congressional Mandates and an Executive Order.

This position is based in Washington, DC and is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all research‐related deliverables are of the highest quality and are completed on time and within budgeted amounts.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, literature reviews, and statistical analyses aligned with the requirements of the project.
  • Collaborate with the Contract Manager, editorial team, and subject-matter experts to synthesize findings, identify issues, and recommend evidence-based solutions; perform quality-control checks on data sources and analytical outputs.
  • Draft and refine sections of country profiles, policy briefs, data visualizations, and other public-facing materials, incorporating feedback from the COR and relevant DOL stakeholders.
  • Translate complex labor data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences while maintaining methodological rigor and data integrity.
Qualifications
  • Three to five years of applied social-science research or policy-analysis experience, preferably on labor, human-rights, or international-development topics.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, or Python) and advanced Excel functions to clean, analyze, and visualize large datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate qualitative and quantitative methods, such as surveys, key-informant interviews, and desk reviews.
  • Familiarity with child labor, forced labor, supply-chain risk, and trade-related datasets (e.g., ILOSTAT, USDOL databases).
  • Proven skill in drafting clear, concise reports, briefs, and data visualizations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience presenting research findings to government clients, NGOs, or multilateral partners and incorporating feedback to refine outputs.
  • Track record of validating data, ensuring methodological rigor, and adhering to established style guides and citation standards.
