Join Our Team as an RN Clinical Staff Nurse in the MST ICU!

Position Summary

As a Clinical Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nursing care based on the Watson Model of Care. You will be responsible for:

• Organizing, planning, and directing patient care for a defined group of patients.
• Identifying and addressing the special needs of diverse populations.
• Supporting the mission and core values of our hospital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Utilize the nursing process to anticipate and meet patient and family needs.
• Conduct thorough nursing assessments and adapt care plans as necessary.
• Apply current research and critical thinking to make informed clinical decisions.
• Foster therapeutic relationships with patients and families, ensuring their rights are respected.
• Document patient care accurately and in compliance with hospital policies.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning with Care Managers.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a safe environment.
• Assist in training new staff and contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere.

Position Requirements

A. Education

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred; Associate in Nursing or equivalent accepted.

B. Qualifications/Experience

• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience required.
• Current California Nursing license and Basic EKG competence.
• Certifications in Progressive Critical Care Nursing and Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.

C. Special Skills/Knowledge

• Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus!
• Basic computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card within 90 days of hire.
