About the Role
The Company is seeking a Lead Computational Biologist for its Gene Therapy Target Discovery Team. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of all computational biology efforts related to gene therapy, with a focus on the inner ear and potential expansion to other therapeutic areas. This role involves the design, analysis, and interpretation of large and complex data sets, including various sequencing techniques. The Lead Computational Biologist will be responsible for experimental design, and data analysis, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the development of novel gene therapies. The position requires a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline, a minimum of 5 years of work experience, and a strong background in genomic and transcriptomic data analysis, particularly with single-cell RNA-seq. Candidates for this role at the company should have a proven track record in developing and applying advanced methods for biological data analysis, with a preference for those with experience in single-cell RNA-seq. The ideal candidate will have a background in virology, human physiology, or disease biology, and experience in gene therapy is highly valued. Strong programming skills in Python and R are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role demands a high level of independence, innovative problem-solving skills, and a passion for translationally relevant science. Familiarity with cloud computing services and a background in industry, including project management and cross-functional collaboration, are also important.
